I’m kind of in the same boat with Daryl. I was taught that if your dad was black, but your mother was of a different ethnicity, then you are considered to be black. As far as President Obama is concerned it seems like he will always be considered a black man despite his mother being white. But whatever, as long as he is competent in his judgement and gets the job done then its all good. Now this may sound pessimistic; Pres. Obama will be under constant scrutiny during his term, and worst comes to worst, things don’t work out for him; Well it could be said that oh its the black man’s fault that this didn’t work out. As for stereotypes, we’re all guilty of it. They exist, but should be done away with. Why can’t we just exist as human beings instead of being labeled as acting black, white, hispanic?
